Weight Loss and food sensitivities

Dear Dr. Speight,

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate what you’ve done to transform my health and quality of life. I reached out to you a year ago due to joint pain, weight gain, and fatigue that was increasing over the last several years. Your holistic approach included testing for food allergies, since food allergies can cause joint inflammation and pain. You discovered I had a number of food allergies and intolerances, and a vitamin D deficiency, no other doctor had discovered before. I changed my diet to eliminate the foods I was allergic and intolerant to with your guidance, and the benefits have been amazing. I have lost 90 pounds and am now within a normal, healthy weight range. I’m eating a more balanced diet and no longer feel the need to be a “stress eater”. I also have had improvements to the following: blood pressure, energy level, thyroid function, asthma symptoms, and joint pain. My coworkers and friends keep asking me how I lost all the weight, and I tell them Dr. Speight discovered the root cause of my health issues. Thanks to you I feel better than I have in years!!!

Mold poisoning – Ochratoxin

Prior to discovering Dr. Speight I spent 3 horrible years dealing with generic doctors who claimed I was “making up symptoms” or who gave me pills which made the symptoms worse. I was put through every standard test known to medicine and was pronounced “normal.” I also wasted alot of time and money on so-called “specialists” who claimed to understand mold poisoning but who didn’t have a real treatment. I had no quality of life, had become isolated and house-bound, and was on the verge of suicide with mycotoxin-induced psychiatric issues and baffling neurological problems. With the appropriate testing Dr. Speight isolated the toxin on the first visit and gave me a definite diagnosis. What a concept: a doctor who actually listens to the patient, has no agenda other than to heal, and knows how to treat a toxic brain injury! I’ve made a dramatic recovery and have thrown away my medication. After years of living in fear and misery I am gradually learning how to enjoy life again. There is hope for you mold sufferers who know what I’m talking about. My highest recommendation goes to Dr. Speight and his excellent and caring staff for saving my life.

Autism

Dear Dr. Speight,

Regarding a child that was not speaking 14 months prior to treatment:

…”Wanted to write to make you smile. I just came home from Walmart where ——- was talking well but had an even bigger wow. He picked up a Ice Age Pez candy dispenser and looked right up at me and asked me THREE questions in a row… “What is this, Mom?”…..”Is it for eating, Mom?”….”Can I have some?”
I smiled and answered each question but like to have cried right there in Walmart!!

Peripheral Neuropathy

Dear Dr. Speight,

It has been over a year since I came to you to be treated for the neuropathy in my feet. I have been to many foot specialists and many tests were done. Finally I went to a neurologist and after testing me she said there was nothing she could do and sent me home with a painkiller to take. The pain was excruciating and I couldn’t work or do things with my family. Your treatment has helped me dramatically. I can work and be on my feet again for a full day. I can play and be there for my grandchildren without the tremendous burning and pain in my feet. I am so thankful I was able to come to you for treatment. You are a very caring physician and your staff is wonderful. Thanks again.

Autism

Dear Dr. Speight,

It was good to see you the other day. I wanted to tell you that David (not his real name) just went through another Psychological/Educational evaluation with Dr. L. D. and the results were amazing. In addition to a high average IQ, she reports that she sees no signs of Aspergers/Autism or ADHD. She describes David as extremely friendly, sweet, and cooperative with a good sense of humor and that he maintained eye contact and seemed confident in his socialization skills. He exhibited good interpersonal skills with the examiner and was cooperative and motivated. WOW! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ………………His progress is nothing short of miraculous – and you, Dr. Speight, are the miracle worker!

Chronic Mycoplasma Infection Wheelchair Bound

Dear Dr. Speight…….

Last semester I took Calculus and loved it. It allows me to get ahead for college, so that I can catch up after missing a year from my illness. If all goes well with this round of AP tests, I will have roughly 35 credit hours going into college. This will be enough to classify me as a sophomore, and I will have caught up to where I should be. College is going to be so much fun. I have had my ups and downs over the past few years, but I am doing much better now. I am hoping to be able to participate in many college activities, including skydiving.

However I wouldn’t be where I am today if it was not for all of you. I owe you a lot Dr. Speight. I am grateful that we were able to find you……. You all touched my heart and I will never forget you. My success today would have never occurred, if you had not come into my life…. Take care and keep up the superb work you do.

Chronic Fatigue

Dr. Speight,

I have been in many doctor’s offices and without a doubt yours is the most caring and professional office I have had the privilege of being seen in. You all have a way of making each patient more than just another number. I want to thank you ..for working with me and offering love, kindness, and encouragement. I know that you offer this to everyone who comes through your doors, and believe me, when you are on this side that is very important to us. …..

Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia

Before I became sick with CFIDS/Fibromyalgia, I was a marathon runner. When I became sick I had to stop running and basically spent my days on the couch. I became so sick that some days I did not have enough energy to even take a shower. It seemed my life, as I knew it, had ended. I was not the same person that I used to be. I was that sick for ten years.

For years nothing seemed to help. I had lost hope that I would ever be able to get back part of my life again. Then Dr. Speight started me on an amino acid protocol and I began to get some of my energy back. I was placed on a large dose of Vitamin D as well and my pain level decreased dramatically. At about the same time Dr. Speight did a biopsy to test for chemicals in my body. It came back positive and I was started on a detoxification program. After four months of the detox program … I feel that I am back to normal again. I am now running three days a week and lifting weights three days a week.

After ten years of being so ill, I feel fortunate to finally get my life back again. I am so grateful to have a doctor who stays current with new treatments and never gives up on the patient. I wanted to tell my story to give you hope that there is help and tell you to never give up.

Dystonia and CFIDS

“………….Your dedication to further learning is unparalleled, as is your devotion to your less fortunate patients. Truly each patient is given attentive, caring, and most of all, an individualized plan which you are always willing to update as you learn more and we learn more about ourselves. You listen keenly to what we have to say, picking up subtleties others miss. You forgive us our constant sins of not doing exactly what you tell us to do, with the gentlest of reprimands to try to get us back on track toward health.”

“As for me, I apologize for not saying directly, as I do so often to nervous new patients in your waiting room, that you have saved my life several times over. I am acutely aware of it, and am eternally indebted to you. I wish I could remind you daily that all your hard work is a blessing to those of us who benefit from it. The lives you save, unlike a surgeon’s, are saved over months and years, but they are saved nonetheless. However, more than that you are a model of kindness, intellectual vigor, intuition, and experience which make you a truly great doctor and a “Good Man”.”

Osteoporosis

Dear Dr. Speight,

I would like to thank you for the time you have spent with my mother and I. You are probably saying that it is your job, but you go way beyond the call of duty and we really appreciate it. You have made the quality of our lives much better by your knowledge of medicine. Juggling two different professions in medicine is difficult and you do it beautifully.

Menopause and Insomnia

Dear. Dr. Speight,

I just wanted you to know how blessed I am to have a doctor who has gone the extra mile for his patients. I am 72 years of age and have been to sleep studies and several doctors in different states and I felt uneasy with all of them but two.

You have been able to answer my questions and help me with bio-identical hormones and much more. I wanted to let you know that I am sleeping better, have more confidence, have a healthier sense of well being and feeling younger again. Each day is a good day to live. You don’t always tell me what I want to hear, but I have learned to trust you. Thank you. …..
